Danny Levensky was born July 14, 1940, in Marion, Indiana. He was one of six boys born to Leo Levensky and Virginia (Sample) Levensky-Patton. He married Waneta (Bowland) Levensky in 1959, has two surviving sons: Larry Levensky (Chris Wagoner), Indianapolis, and James Levensky (Sheri Brewer), Amboy; and was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Levensky, and an infant daughter.
Danny has two surviving brothers: Thomas Levensky, Sun Lakes, Arizona; and Robert Levensky, Plant City, Florida; two step-sisters: Priscilla Newman, Yavonna Wright; and three step-brothers: Joe Patton, Patrick Patton, and Vincent Patton. He has two grandsons: Christopher Levensky (Lynne Rhodes), Fishers, IN; and Andrew Levensky, Indianapolis; and two great-grandsons: Greyson Levensky and Gavin Levensky. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Luther Patton, and three brothers: Sidney Levensky, Ronald Levensky, and Joseph Levensky.
Danny was a member of the Amboy United Methodist Church. He held several employment positions: Marion Malleable Iron Works, Marion, IN; co-owner of Levensky’s Iron Kettle, Amboy, IN; and retired from the Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo, IN. He also worked for several years as a volunteer fireman at Amboy Volunteer Fire Department, drove a bus for Oak Hill Schools, and assisted at Laird Funeral Home.
Danny sang with a gospel group in the 80’s, played in church softball leagues, and loved traveling in his RV, camping, fishing, eating out, and spending time at his vacation home in Lake Placid, FL. However, he found his greatest joy in being of service to others. He passed away at home on January 8, 2022.
A Service Celebrating the life of Danny Levensky will be held on at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, IN with Pastor Bruce Mughmaw officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the Laird-Eddy Funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
