Claudia J. Hatfield, 69, of Converse passed away at 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Aperion Care in Marion. She was born in Kokomo Indiana on August 17, 1953, the daughter of Donald W. and Mildred (Ryan) Ludwig. On October 31, 2001, she married Fredric Hatfield, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 2016.

Claudia had a lifelong love of wildlife and fostered many pets over the years. She also enjoyed fishing and could easily spend all day on the water angling, especially in the company of her late husband Fredric. Her hobbies included crafting, crocheting, baking (she taught herself how to decorate cakes), and she loved decorating her yard with seasonal decorations and solar lights.

She is survived by her stepsons Roy Hatfield of Marion, Eric (Becky) Hatfield of Alexandria, Claude (Betsy) Hatfield of Marion, and Donald (Cay) Hatfield of Blackford County; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Fredric Hatfield, Sr, she was preceded in death by her parents, stepson Fredric Hatfield, Jr. and three sisters and two brothers.

A service celebrating the life of Claudia J. Hatfield will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, IN with Pastor Randy Smoot officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN, at a later date. Family and friends will gather from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM, Saturday, prior to the service.
