Cathy Jane (Mitchell) Mullett, 81, of Peru, passed away at 9:45 P.M., Sunday, March 15, 2026 at The Waters of Peru. She was born on December 22, 1944, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Hartz) Mitchell. Cathy was a 1963 graduate of Peru High School and earned an Associate degree from Indiana Business College. In her early years she worked as an Administrative Secretary in the Peru School system and later worked at Kuepper Favor. Religion was very important to Cathy. She was member of the World Wide Church of God. She was a caring, fun, lighthearted woman who loved her family. Cathy was an avid reader. Her love for reading led her to create her own library, including extensive collections of murder mysteries like Agatha Christie and also Harry Potter (both books and movies). Not only a collector of books, Cathy was also an author with one book in the process of being published and three more in the creative works. Her artistic talent didn’t stop at literature, her creative side extended to drawing and painting, with an distinctive talent for designing, sculpting and painting both soft sculpture and porcelain lifelike dolls. Cathy was also a sci-fi superfan, collecting both the Star Trek series and the Star Gate Series among others. Surviving are her daughters Christie (Mullett) Bakehorn of Peru and Amy Mullett of MA; brothers Art Mitchell of Lowell, IN and Tom Mitchell of Peru. grandchildren; Bridget Brown, Ryan Mariano, Dylan Julian, Cameron Bakehorn, Erika (Noah) Caldwell, Jessika Bakehorn, Clifford Bakehorn III, Meghan (Josiah) Miller, and Madeline Moon, and great-grandchildren; Rolly Hernandez, Ramiro Picos IV, Laci DeStefano, Roman Harmon, Blair Keis, Taron Caldwell, Kalli and Emma Miller, and Josey Bakehorn. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Shirley Mitchell, a brother Larry Mitchell, a son, Michael Mullett and a granddaughter Brittany Mullett. A memorial of life Lunch will be held for family and friends at Beef O Brady's, Saturday the 21st at 1pm. (Food and Drink not provided) In lieu of flowers, Love Offerings may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.
