Carolyn J. (Butzin) Miller

Carolyn J. Miller, 95, of Peru, passed away at 12:52 P.M., Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru. She was born in Peru on August 6, 1926, the daughter of Edward G. and Nondas Bell (Fields) Butzin. Carolyn married Charles W. Miller, Jr. on May 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1967. Carolyn was a member of Gamma-Nu Sorority and worked at Bubble Light for 2 years and at Husky Harlan Furniture for 10 years, but her calling in life was stay-at-home mother, grandma, great- grandma and great-great-grandma. Carolyn treasured time with family and friends, enjoyed going out to eat and vacations to see new places. Surviving are her children Charles W. Miller III of Marion, Charlene (Ronnie) Yard of Peru and Joyce See of Peru; brothers Carl Butzin of CA and Larry Butzin of Kokomo and a sister Carriebell English of VA; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, Jr., a son-in-law Morris See, brothers Richard Butzin and Stanley Fields and a sister Dorothy Johnson. A service celebrating the life of Carolyn J. Miller will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru with Rev. Scott Butzin and Rev. Kenneth Greenwald officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru. Family and friends will gather from Noon to 1:00 P.M., Saturday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
