Carla May (Day) Parker

Carla May Parker, 68, of Amboy, IN passed away at 12:10 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 11, 1952 the daughter of John and Vivian Barnhart Day. Carla married James A. Parker on February 16, 1974 and he survives.

Carla was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, IN and a 1974 graduate of Taylor University. She attended the Sugar Grove Community Church in Greensfork, IN. Carla was employed by the Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo, IN and a member of UAW Local 685.

Carla was an avid collector of penguins and snow babies. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. Family was very important to Carla and she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Throughout her life, Carla demonstrated her compassion and gentleness to everyone she met. She was the matriarch of the family.

Surviving in addition to her husband Jim are daughters Heather Stevens and her husband Jeff of Peru and Tiffany Reed and her husband Stuart of Fort Wayne, grandchildren Nathaniel Stevens, Riley Stevens, Hannah Reed, Caden Reed, Benjamin Reed and Oliver Reed, brothers Adrian Day of Kingston, TN and David Day of Cambridge City, IN and a sister Beva Felmy and her husband Steve of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Ryan Parker.

A private service celebrating the life of Carla May Parker will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Amboy Friends Church, 110 E. Pennsylvania Street, Amboy, with Dr. Lloyd Lorenz officiating. The Service will also be live streamed on Facebook at Eddy Funeral Homes, Inc. Burial will be in the Kendall Cemetery, Miami County, IN. Family and friends will gather from 4 – 8 PM, Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy.
