Bessie A. (Kotera) Rehl, 84, of Peru, found her healing in the arms of our Lord and Savior on July 16, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Anthony J., Sr.; four children Anthony (Carol) Rehl Jr., Alan J. (Ann) Rehl, Thomas J. (Brenda) Rehl and Deborah L. Gribben (Ric Hicks); twelve grandchildren Christal, Braxton, Anthony III, Brittney, Ashleigh, Courtney, Kristen, Wyatt, BreAnn, Garrett, Alexandra and Molly and sixteen great-grandchildren; her brother Charles J. Kotera; sisters Rose (Mike) Atkinson and Florence Webster and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Robert Kotera, sisters Ruby Launderville, Mary Stroik and Margaret Leef, and her great-granddaughter Haven Anderson.
She was born in Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin on February 16, 1940 the daughter of Joseph and Nora (Sparks) Kotera. She was a faithful Air Force wife traveling to many cities and countries before retiring in Indiana. Bessie was a devoted mother and a staunch supporter of her children and grandchildren. She adored her rescued cat Willow. She was well-traveled, was always thinking of the well-being of others and was an admirer of hummingbirds and a beautiful sunset. Bessie was a woman of strong Catholic faith.
A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Bessie Ann Rehl will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St., Peru, with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating.
