Barbara Sue (Aikman) Warner

Barbara S. Warner, 81, of Peru, passed away at 7:48 P.M., Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne. Barbara was born in Peru on October 30, 1944, the daughter of Lamoine and Dorothy (Murphy) Aikman. She married David L. Warner on June 1, 1974 and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1998. Barbara was an 1963 graduate of Peru High School and a member of the Oakdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, reading, crochet and playing Yahtzee. However, her passion was her family, doting on the children, grandchildren and extended family. Surviving are her daughters Michelle Hall and her husband Steven Hall II and Angelia (Warner) Atkinson both of Peru, step sons David L Warner, Jr. of Kentucky and Michael (Shelly) Warner of Bunker Hill; grandchildren Cason Oaks and Cayden Oaks of Peru, Shyane Warner and Deandra Warner of Kentucky, Austin Warner of Wabash, Kelli Welsh of Texas, Justice Warner, Osha Harrison and Searra Toth of Kokomo and Brandon Warner of Bunker Hill; seven great-grandchildren and a sister Judy Smiley. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, three brothers, a brother-in-law, a niece and one grandchild. Memorial services celebrating the life of Barbara S. Warner will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Oakdale Baptist Church, 348 Chili Ave, Peru with Pastor Phil Cruea officiating. Family and friends will gather from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M., Sunday at the Oakdale Baptist Church.
