Barbara J. (Ferris) Conner

Barbara J. Conner, 82, of Peru, passed away at 12:20 A.M., Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. She was born in Angola, IN, the daughter of David and Edna Wilcox Ferris. Barb married Daniel O. Conner in Denver, IN on February 18, 1961 and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2021. A 1958 graduate of Peru High School, Barb was a member of the Psi Iota Psi Sorority and the Ladies of the Moose. An active member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, Barb could be found helping in many areas of the church. Barb and Dan owned and operated the East End Double Dip since 1973. However, her favorite role was that of wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are sons Robbie Conner and his wife Kathy of Peru and Bradley Conner and his wife Christy of South Bend; grandchildren Adam Brower and his wife Julie and Riley Conner and his wife Lindsay and great-grandchildren Bryce Brower, Cameron Brower, Lynlee Brower, Adalynn Conner and Ryland Conner; a brother Steven Ferris and his wife Shirley of Xenia, OH and sisters Sonja Myers and her husband Ken of Ocala, FL and Susan Anderson of Peru. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dan, and a brother Herschel Schworm. A service celebrating the life of Barbara Conner will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Main Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Samuel Odubena officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home to the Main Street UMC.
