Barbara Jean (Shook) Brown

Barbara J. (Shook) Brown, 75, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. She was born in Peru, Indiana on July 27, 1950 to Lowell and Isabell Shook. Barbara was a 1968 graduate of Oak Hill High School. She worked in a variety factories over the years where she took great pride in her work in quality control. Prior to retirement she worked for Goodwill Industries in Rochester, Indiana. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Paula Snodgrass (Ed) Persinger, of Huntington; sisters, Annabell (Erhardt) Ballschmidt of Amboy and Joan Rondot of Peru; Brother-in-law, Jim Bentley of Rockport, TX; nephews: Michael (Teresa) Hierholzer and Sam (Sally) Hazelett; nieces: Diane (Nancy) DiCicco and Maggie (Lisa) Given. Along with her dear friends, Linda Heins (the Thelma to her Louise); Sara Heins, and Rochelle Powell. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lola Bentley; son, David Lowell Snodgrass; niece, Deborah Cunningham and nephews Gregory and Charles Hazelett. Visitation will be held at Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, IN, on August 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Funeral service at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Norm Snyder officiating. Burial will be at Park Lawn I.O.O.F Cemetery, St Rd 19 and 700 E, Amboy, IN 46911. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Fulton County Animal Center.
