Arrian Berdean Melson, 97, of Peru, passed away at 2:40 P.M., Friday, December, 27, 2024 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. Berdean was born in Kokomo, IN on January 14, 1927, the daughter of Harry C. and Delores Crane Kuhns. She married Harry A. Melson on November 22, 1946, in Kokomo and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2005.
Berdean was a 1945 graduate of Kokomo High School and a woman of great faith and integrity, who was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Peru. Family was the most important thing in her life. A Christian mother, she was an example of kindness and generosity to all her family. In her quiet and unassuming manner, Berdean placed her God and her family above all else in her life. Through the years she served as a Girl Scout Leader, was active in the Boy Scouts and various PTA’s.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Mock and her husband Jim of Peru and Cindy Stehlik and her husband Randy of Ft. Wayne; daughter-in-law Lucy Melson of Peru; grandchildren Jonathan Stehlik, David Stehlik, Isaac (Melissa) Mock, Danielle (Lance) Wrisk, Robin (Jody) Beauchamp, Tracy (Matt) Lewis, Kasey (Derek) Peebles, Shelly (Tim) Rice and Alyssa (Jason) Bradley; great-grandchildren Arian Mock, Brady Mock, Jim Lewis, Grace Lewis, Riley Wise, Holly (Dylan) Hopper, Lily Peebles, Cameron (Katie) Beachamp, Nathan (Amanda) Smith, Isaiah (Shauna) Smith, Hannah Hawkins, Jack Rice, Georgia Rice, Alexis Bradley and great-great-grandchildren Willow Smith and Hudson Smith. Berdean was preceded by her parents, her husband, Harry, her son, Kim, a granddaughter Stacey M. Melson, a great-granddaughter Virginia Lewis, her brother Harry H. Kuhns and her sister Harriett Prather.
A service celebrating the life of Arrian Berdean Melson will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru with Pastor Josiah Black officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from Noon to 2:00 P.M., Thursday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
