Amelia Joy Smith, passed away at 12:16 A.M., Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Vincent Women’s Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born on January 15, 2024, the daughter of Cameron and Anna (Butler) Smith.
Amelia “Millie” Smith was a strong and resilient fighter who defied many odds in her short time on earth. She spent 50 beautiful hours in the arms of her parents and family, knowing nothing but comfort and love. Her family finds peace in knowing she is perfectly healed and in the arms of Jesus.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are maternal grandparents Jim and Sonya Butler of Peru, paternal grandparents Chris and Elle Smith of Peru, maternal great-grandparent Cobina Fogleman of Carmel, paternal great-grandparents Terry W and Rebecca Smith of Peru and Nancy Lee of Metamora, OH. Amelia was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Beth Smith, paternal great-grandfather Charles Andrew Lee, and maternal great-grandparents Tommy Fogleman and Marion and Betty Jean Butler.
Honoring the family’s wishes, there will be a memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Abel Speaks Foundation, 2001 W. Plano Parkway, Suite 1909, Plano, TX 75075, a pro-life, nonprofit organization that helps expecting families with life-limiting diagnoses, like Amelia’s.
