Alvina Elisaida Archuleta, 91, of Peru, passed away at 10:15 AM, Monday, October 28, 2024 at Hickory Creek in Peru. She was born in Monte Vista, Colorado, on October 8, 1933, the daughter of Pete and Nellie Leiva. Alvina married Fred Salaz and he preceded her in death. She then married Arnolado Archuleta on December 20, 1963 and he preceded her in death July 22, 2009. Alvina was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosery Society, and Caring Hearts Ministry of the church. She was a retired cook from Miller’s Merry Mannor in Peru. Family was above all else the most important thing in Alvina’s life. She loved being part of whatever activities her kids and grandchildren were involved in. Alvina loved playing disc golf, enjoyed babysitting, and loved gardening and sewing. She is survived by her children Herb Salaz of Peru, Desi (Debi) Salaz of Greenwood, Indiana, Debra (Todd) Hagan of Denver, IN, Adrian (Jennifer) Archuleta of Peru, Denise (Bruce) Walker of Decatur, GA, Felicia (Tammy) Archuleta of Logansport, a daughter-in-law Gail Salaz of Peru, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Fred and Archy, sons Fred and Kohn Salaz, and a granddaughter Heather Walker. A service celebrating the life of Alvina Archuleta will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 west Main St. Peru, with Fr. Gustavo Lopez officiating. Burial will be in Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, IN. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to St. Charles Catholic Church or Miami County Helping Hands.
