Wilmuth J. "Willie" Malaska

Wilmuth J. “Willie” Malaska, 101, of Peru, passed away at 11:56 A.M., Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Peru. Willie was born in Columbus, OH on January 2, 1918, the daughter of Emeil and Mary Pearl Miller Pernod. She married Paul D, “Pat” Malaska on July 12, 1939 in Crawfordsville, IN and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1992. Willie was a graduate of Fairmount High School and was a member of the Peru First Christian Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Peru/Grissom Kiwanis and was in Psi Iota Xi Sorority. Willie retired in 1972 from the Lilly Life Science Department of Purdue University. Willie is survived by her daughter Susan Gulley and her husband Herschel of Peru; grandsons David (Anne) Gulley of Chicago, Michael Scott (Timara) Gulley of Machesney Park, IL and Robert (Rebecca) Gulley of Peru; great-grandchildren Kyle Gulley, Mary Anne Gulley, David J. Gulley, Christopher Gulley, Mariah Gulley and Chayton Gulley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister and two brothers. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Noon, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru. Family and friends will gather from 10:00 A.M. till time of service, Thursday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to NICF (memo to Pat Malaska Fund or to Harvesting Capabilities 231 N. Grant, Peru, for the special needs playground.
