Steven D Williams

Steven D. Williams, 68, of Peru, passed away at 2:22 P.M., Monday, May 14, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Miami County, IN the son of Delbert Williams and Helen Duff Williams Rife Sheneman. He had a special bond with his stepfather, Eldon Rife. Steven was a Peru High School graduate and attended Ball State University. He was a Conductor for the Norfolk Southern Railroad and retired after 39 years of service. Steven was an avid softball player for more than 40 years and was inducted into the Indiana Softball Hall of Fame. Steven loved his cars and enjoyed going to the Power House Gym. He was a warm, kindhearted man who never met a stranger. Surviving are his sons, Scott Williams (Michelle) of Knoxville, TN, and Stefan Williams (Amber) of Peru, IN; three grandsons Max Williams, Andrew Kelly and Aaron Kelly; a sister, Rita Williams Clements (Robert) of Leesburg, FL; four brothers Jeff Williams (Christy), Tony Williams, Denny Williams and Delbert “Junior” Williams (Ann) all of Peru, IN. Steve was thrilled anticipating the birth of his granddaughter in November 2018. He was preceded in by his parents, and a brother Dennis Lee Williams. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Steven D. Williams will be held at 7:00 P.M., Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday at the funeral home.
