Russell W. “Bun” Gallahan, 96, formerly of Peru, passed away peacefully in Peachtree, GA on October 29, 2017. He was born in Peru on November 17, 1920 the son of Floyd and Isa Fishburn Gallahan. Bun married Jackie Stanton in Mexico, IN in 1950 and they were married for 36 years until her death in 1986. A 1939 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Mexico Bun spent the majority of his life in Miami County. Growing up in the Mexico Church of the Brethren with his brothers and sister he enjoyed a long business career married his beloved wife Jackie and raised their family. A member of Americas Greatest Generation Bun was a WWII Veteran serving in the US Army Air Corps from 1942-1946. His military decorations include the American Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Their daughter, her husband and their children survive him in Peachtree City, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Vera Rademaker, brothers Harold Gallahan, Edward “Deloise” Gallahan and Dean Gallahan. Visitation will be at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home in Peru on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 PM and a memorial service will follow with Pastor and friend David Beebe Officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Eel River Association, 13894 Oak Haven Drive, McCordsville, IN 46055
