Rose Horner Obituary

Rose Horner, 91, of rural Kokomo, IN passed away at 12:40AM, Tuesday September 10, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada on November 28, 1927 the daughter of John and Stella Witmer Kehl. Rose married Leslie “Les” Horner in Canada on October 1, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2011. Rose and her husband, Les, lovingly raised six children. A woman of deep religious conviction, she was a long time member of the Howard-Miami Mennonite Church. Rose was a loyal, devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her children, Donald (Elsie) Horner, Kokomo, Warren Horner, Sarasota, FL, Frederick (Sherry) Horner, Kokomo, Margaret (Gary) Guest, Kokomo, Eldon Horner, Traverse City, MI, and Patricia (Donald) Miller, Sarasota, FL, a sister, Alice Kehl, Guelph, Ontario, grandchildren Chris (Christy) Dunn, Steve (Tricia) Dunn, Michael (Kelly) Horner, Michelle Horner, Jason (Melanie) Horner, Andrew (Sammy) Dunn, Grant Horner, Garrett Miller, Erin (Matt) Chu and Lauren Miller; great-grandchildren Avery Dunn, Austin Dunn, Colin Horner, Lance Dunn, Madison Dunn, Tyler Horner, Victoria Horner and Cohen Horner, step-grandchildren, Eric, Jessie, Karla, Hannah, Chris, Jason, Jacob, Natalie, and Bobby. and Step-great-grandchildren, Ashley, Eli, Jane, Sadi, Colt, Kyler, and Reese. Family and friends of Rose Horner will gather from 2:00-6:00PM Sunday September 15, 2019 at the Howard-Miami Mennonite Church, 3976 E. 1400 S. Kokomo, IN. A service celebrating the life of Rose Horner will be held at 10:30AM Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Howard-Miami Mennonite Church with Pastor Ben Schlegel officiating. Burial will be in the Mast Cemetery, Howard County, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Women’s Sewing Circle of Howard-Miami Mennonite Church.
