Rosa J. (Herschberger) Herschberger, age 90 years 7 months and 2 days, died Saturday at 11:35 PM at her home. She was born on January 10, 1927, in Miami County, the daughter of Joe E. and Lovina (Gingerich) Herschberger. On October 16, 1947 she married Andy A. Herschberger. He preceded her in death July 20, 2004. They lived in matrimony 56 years, 9 months and 4 days. She was a faithful homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Surviving are six sons and daughters-in-law, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Freeman and Ruth (Graber) of Converse, Eugene and Edna Mae (Miller) of Amboy, Mary and Ivan Gingerich of Kokomo, Emory and Ida Mae (Bontrager) of Bunker Hill, Raymond and Kathryn (Miller) of Amboy, Andy Jr. and Barbara (Herschberger) of Greentown Lloyd and Darlene(Miller) of Kokomo, Irene Herschberger at home and Elsie and Roger Herschberger of Kokomo, 42 grandchildren, 89 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, 13 step-great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three in laws, Andy E Yoder, Bloomfield, IA, Edith Herschberger, Goshen, IN, Alma Herschberger, Emporia, KS. She was preceded in death by her siblings Mary Helmuth (Truman), Frannie Yoder (Leo), Lizzie Bontrager (Ed) Tillie Bontrager (Moses) Clara Yoder, (Andy), Simon J. Herschberger, 3 grandchildren and 4 great –grandchildren. Burial will be at Christner Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana. The family wish to express their sincere thanks for all the letters, prayers, kind deeds young folks singing, visits, phone calls and food during her passing. Arrangements are viewing Tuesday after 10:00 AM and all day Wednesday, funeral is Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Lloyd A. Herschberger residence, 13341 S. and 300 E., Kokomo, IN with Rev. Marvin Otto officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, Amboy, IN.
