Robert "Bob" L. Morris

Robert “Bob” L. Morris, 97, formerly of Amboy, IN passed away at 12:23pm Monday, September 2, 2019, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, IN. He was born in Cadiz, OH on September 14, 1921, the son of Everett and Delphia Mae Gallien Morris. Bob married Marian E. Norton in Cleveland, OH on August 19, 1948 and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2009. Bob was a member and co-founder of the Open Door Fellowship in Converse, IN. During his lifetime he has served as a Pastor, Missionary, Educator and Carpenter. Bob helped start Channel 40 in Indianapolis which was the first Christian TV station in the nation. For several years he had his own TV show on channel 40 which was “The 40-40 Club”. He served as the Pastor at the Amboy Friends Church and the Maple Run Friends Church. Surviving are his sons David Morris of Elgin, IL, Dan Morris and his wife Lois of Amboy, IN and Don Morris and his wife Jennifer of Converse, IN; a brother John Morris of West Liberty, OH; a sister-in-law Doris Morris of Eugene, OR; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, and special friend Jerry Fox of Marion, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marian, a son, Dean Morris and his wife Cheryl; two brothers and one sister. Family and friends of Robert “Bob” L. Morris will gather from 4-6pm Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Open Door Fellowship 1388 N. 800 W. Converse, IN. A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert L. Morris will be held at 6:30pm, Thursday at the Open Door Fellowship with Bob’s brother and fellow missionary Pastor John Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made through the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, to the Amboy Friends Food Pantry. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, Amboy, IN.
