Richard G Scott

Richard G. Scott, 71, of Peru, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, at 7:20 AM, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru. He was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on December18, 1946, the son of Richard H. and Mary Louise Koller Scott. Rich married Leslie Dale Hughes in South Bend, IN on June 10, 1967 and she survives.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Peru High School and a member of the McCrawsville United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Scott’s IGA in Peru for over 40 years. He was a renowned gunsmith and made and repaired guns for customers all over the United States. Rich was an avid hunter and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their various activities.

Surviving in addition to his wife Leslie are his children Richard J. Scott of Noblesville, IN, Rachel Sand and her husband Scott of Avon, IN, Aaron Scott and his wife Melissa of Portland, OR, Adam Scott and his wife April of Richmond, IN and Andrew Scott of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Martha Hayes of Richmond, IN and Nancy Brown and her husband Martin of Muncie, IN; and grandchildren Emma Scott, Ali Scott, Bailey Scott, Charlotte Scott, Gabriel Scott, Isabella Scott , John Sand and Nathan Sand.

A service celebrating the life of Richard G. Scott will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Robert Land and Pastor J. Robert Clark officiating. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM, on Friday.
