Rebecca E. "Becky" (Newman) Newman

Rebecca E. “Becky” Newman, 77, of Peru, passed away at 4:50 PM, Monday, October 8, 2018 , at Hospice Home, in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born in Peru on January 28, 1941, the daughter of Earl K. and Lois Imogene Wiest Newman.

Becky graduated from Peru High School in 1959 and received an Associates Degree from IVY Tech in 1979. Becky worked in the wedding department at American Stationary and retired after many years of employment. Becky attended the Church of the Brethren, and was a member of the Ole Olson Theater in Peru and Civic Players of Logansport, IN.

Becky is survived by her sister Dawn Newman, Peru; several cousins including Hal Sonafrank, John Sonafrank, Ruth Graovac, Daniel Myers, Faith Davis, Roy Friedersdorf, Cheryl Lenon, Christine Vance and her special friend and caregiver Judy Myers of Peru. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Nancy Newman.

A service celebrating the life of Rebecca E. “Becky” Newman will be held, at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Church of the Brethren, 134 E. 5th Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Phil Cruea officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru. Family and friends will gather after 2:00 PM, on Sunday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN to assist the family with final expenses.
