Raymond E Trent

Raymond E. Trent, 90, of Flint, MI passed away at 7:00 AM, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at The Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Flint, MI. He was born in Peru, IN on December 4, 1927, the son of Robert E. and Mary M. Buckalew Trent. Raymond married Doris Durnal in Indianapolis, IN on June 4, 1955 and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2011.

A US Army Veteran Raymond served two tours of duty in Korea. He was a 1946 graduate of Peru High School received his Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and his PHD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University. He was a Professor and head of the Thermal Dynamics Department at General Motors Institute which later became Kettering Institute retiring in 1982.

He is survived by a son Blake A. Trent of Flint, MI and a sister Shirley Trent of Noblesville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris and a son Reed E. Trent.

A service celebrating the life of Raymond E. Trent will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Dwight Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 1:00 PM Saturday, until time of service.

Military graveside service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit.
