Margarette Rose Obituary

Margarette D. Rose, 75, of Amboy, IN passed away at 8:37 AM, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, IN. She was born in Marion, IN on December 3, 1942, the daughter of Dawson and Dorothea Mae Anderson Harmon. Margarette married John H. Rose at the Christy Street Evangelical United Brethren Church in Marion, IN on March 17, 1963, and he survives. She was a past employee of First Farmers National Bank (State Bank of Amboy) for 20 years. Also a past employee of State Bank of Sweetser. Margarette retired from the postal service where she was employed for 25 years, 11 of those years she served as Postmaster at the Amboy Post office. She was a member of the Amboy United Methodist Church where she served as a past Sunday School Teacher and past Church Treasurer. She also served as Town Clerk for Amboy, was a past member of the Amboy’s Fireman’s Auxiliary and Board Member for Amboy Festivals. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, Red Hats Club, Sprint Car Racing which involved her grandson. She also was an avid animal lover and supported the local animal shelters. Her favorite enjoyment was spending time with her family where holidays, especially Christmas, was always celebrated with pizazz. Surviving in addition to her husband John is a daughter Joetta Payne and her husband Eric of Peru; sons Kevin Rose of Kokomo and John D. Rose of Gas City; grandchildren Jessica (Kyle) Clauson, Brooklynn (Jordan) Field, Brandon Rose and Peyton Rose; great grandchildren Lyla Clauson, Tobias Clauson, McKenzie Bowland and Gunner Rose; a sister Farrolyn (Bud) Lannigan of CA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Bud Harmon. Graveside Services for Margarette D. Rose will be held at 5:00 PM, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy, IN with Pastor Bruce Mughmaw officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Pipe Creek Animal Clinic or the Marion Grant County Human Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, Amboy, IN.
