Lynn Dee Austin

Lynn Dee Austin, 66, of Lafayette, formerly of Peru, passed away at 10:28 A.M., Thursday, August 15, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport , IN. Lynn was born in Columbus, OH on Sept 16, 1952, the daughter of Frank and Mary Anna Webb Hullinger. Lynn was a 1970 graduate of Centerville High School, Centerville, IN. She received her BS in Physical Education from Indiana Central College in 1975 and her Master degree in Education from Ball State University. She taught Physical Education in the Peru Community Schools from 1975 to 1996. Lynn then attended IUK and became a Registered Nurse. Roman Catholic by faith, Lynn was a former member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Peru, she was also a member of the Indiana State Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association. She was an avid reader and had a flair for crafting and note booking. She showed us how to live beautifully, truthfully and with faith filled simplicity. Surviving is a son, Derek Casper of Noblesville, IN; brothers Charles Hullinger of Lafayette, IN and Scott Hullinger of Bolingbrook, IL and a sister Tana Hullinger of Lakeville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Darci Casper. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Lynn Dee Austin, will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 West 5th St., Peru with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 20th at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. (ASPCA)
