Louise Ann Redmon Summers, 93, of Peru, passed away at 7:30 P.M., Sunday, November 26, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Peru on May 29, 1924, the daughter of Alfred F. and Hilda Rademaker Fries. Louise Ann married William L. Redmon at St. Charles Catholic Church on June 14, 1947 and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2002. Louise Ann and William were married for 55 years and lovingly raised four children. Louise Ann married G. N. “Bill” Summers on June 28, 2013 and he survives. Louise Ann and Bill shared four wonderful years together, giving her great happiness. Louise Ann was a 1942 graduate of Peru High School, she attended St. Mary’s of the Woods in South Bend, IN and graduated from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis in 1946. She was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Altar and Rosary Society and Tri Kappa Sorority. Throughout her life time, Louise Ann volunteered her services at various community activities, including the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, Birthright, American Red Cross and St. Vincent de Paul. Louise Ann had a lifelong love of the outdoors and flower gardening. Her most treasured roll was caring for and spending time as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a lifelong and devoted Catholic, who led by example and treated all people with Christian charity and kindness. Surviving in addition to her husband, Bill, are daughters Joan Weaver and her husband Max of Peru, Laura Raimondi and her husband Joe of Indianapolis, Mary Ann Jackson of Peru and a son Sam Redmon and his wife Dr. Christi Redmon of Peru; grandchildren Scott (Charla) Weaver, Andy (Kristen) Weaver, Jenny (Michael) Gant, Dr. Ben (Jenny) Redmon, Patrick Redmon, Claire Redmon, Kate Redmon, Joseph Raimondi, Chris Raimondi, Elizabeth Raimondi, Maggie (Matt) Chilcutt, and Jacob Jackson; great-grandchildren Ella Weaver, Macy Weaver, Charlie Weaver, Grace Weaver, Olivia Gant, Trevor Gant, Maddox Redmon, Isaac Redmon, Ellie Chilcutt and Theo Chilcutt; a sister Mary Ellen White of Winamac, IN and Bill’s children Jeff Summers and his wife Karen of Portland, OR and Lisa Kobek and her husband Robert of Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Louise Ann Redmon Summers will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 West 5th Street, Peru, with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru, IN. A prayer service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the St. Charles Catholic Church Restoration Fund.
