Kurt A. Schindler, 52, of Peru passed away at his residence. Kurt was born in Dallas, Texas on March 13, 1967, the son of C. Wayne Schindler and Barbara Palmer Swing.
After leaving his television-writing career in Los Angeles, Kurt moved to Peru with his partner, Bill Crawford. There, he became an active member of the Ole Olsen Memorial Theatre as an actor, writer, and director. Most notably, he wrote and directed many Cole Porter revues for the annual Cole Porter Festival and his recent adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
Surviving is his father, C. Wayne Schindler, Denver, CO; siblings Kris Schindler and her husband John Thompson, Denver, CO; Karl Schindler and his wife Anne, Phoenix, AZ; Cari Swing-Thomas and her husband Nathan, Rockwall, TX; and Eric Swing and his wife Jamie, Midland, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Swing, and partner, Bill Crawford.
A Celebration of Life Cabaret for Kurt Schindler will be held at the Ole Olsen Memorial Theatre at the Peru Depot, 1 West Canal Street, on Thursday, June 13 at 8:30 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
