Laura Joan Garber, 88, of Peru, Indiana, passed away at 8:10 AM, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Logansport, Indiana on October 2, 1928 the daughter of Roy and Eva Irene Quinn Maugans. Joan married J. O. Garber on June 28, 1951 and he survives. Joan graduated from Onward High School and was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and mother and an accomplished seamstress. Surviving in addition to her husband, J.O., are daughters Beth Ann Krauskopf and her husband Stephen of Battle Creek Michigan and Brenda Kay Hammond and her husband Jerry of Peru. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Audrey Lynn Noble. Private graveside services for Joan Garber will held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Deer Creek Cemetery in Onward, IN, with Rev. J. Robert Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miami County Helping Hands. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
