Jerry L. Kerns, 84, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at Blair Ridge Health Campus. He was born on August, 6, 1932 to Roy and Arlene (Van Hoy) Kerns in French Lick, IN. He married Helen Tillery on November 21, 1953 and she survives. They have two children, Barry, Yorba Linda, CA and Tyra (Jim) Walker, Peru and grandchildren, Josh Walker, Carmel, IN and Jennifer (Jacob) Bowman, Peru. Also surviving are great-grandsons, Jacob and Jacoby Bowman and a step-great grandson, Gavin Bowman. He also has one sister, Ann (Leon) Toliver, French Lick, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Robert and Keith and a sister, Patricia. Jerry was involved with building bridges for over 40 years. He was a project manager with R.L. Schutt, Bates & Rogers and retired in 1994 from Traylor Bros. in retirement, he continued his love of golf as a golf ranger at Rock Hollow Golf Club. He was a 50 year member of Main St. Methodist Church and the French Lick Masonic Lodge 586. Viewing will be Thursday, July 13 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 7 P.M. Funeral service will be Friday, July 14th at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Lauren Hall and Rev. Steve Quinlan officiating. Private burial services will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Lung Association or Main St. United Methodist Church.
