James Robert Hatfield, Jr.

James Robert Hatfield, Jr., 87, of Peru, passed away at 6:35 PM, Wednesday, April 4. 2018 at his daughter’s residence. He was born in Williamsburg, KY on May 8, 1930, the son of James R. and Myrtle Holloway Hatfield, Sr. James married Ida Lawson on August 1, 1955 in Jellico, TN and she preceded him in death on February 17, 2011.

James worked for General Motors Automotive in Detroit, Michigan until his retirement in 1984. James and Ida moved to Peru in 1997 to be closer to their daughter Karen and her family.

James is survived by his daughter, Karen Marks, and her husband, David, of Peru, IN and a grandson, Jeremy Marks of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ida Lawson Hatfield, two brothers, Thomas and Bill, three sisters Zella, Georgie and Shirley.

A service celebrating the life of James Robert Hatfield, Jr. will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Chaplin Larry Phillips. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru. Family and friends will gather from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
