The world’s greatest circus fan transitioned to heaven’s center ring on Thursday, November 15th at 12:58 pm. Born on February 14, 1932 to Minta and Millard Miser in Montpelier, Ohio,
Harold Lynn Miser was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. An Air Force Veteran, Harold proudly served our country during the Korean War and his military decorations include the Nation Defense Service Medal. He was a jet mechanic for over 40 years at GAFB retiring in 1990. Harold was a member of the Mexico Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a member of the Peru Amateur Circus, where he was recognized as the first Honorary Rigger of the Year. He loved the circus, camping, traveling and spending time at their winter home in Sarasota, Florida. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family and friends telling stories (and having a beer or two).
Harold was married for 64 years to Roberta, the love of his life, who survives. They are the proud parents of four sons: Craig (Lori) of Indianapolis, Mike (deceased), Jerry (Margo) of Indianapolis, and Brian (Tina) of Peru and honorary son and daughter Randy and Debi Wallick of Peru. He had one brother, Dale Miser (deceased) and sister-in-law Eileen Miser of Montpelier, Ohio. Harold loved his grandchildren dearly. They include Christy Chantos, Jamie Miser, Starr Miser Julian, Alex Miser, Jesse Miser, Andrea Miser, Philip Miser, Briana Miser Dyche, Skyler Miser, Misty Grayson, Melissa Black and Matthew Birner. The Miser family also includes 18 beautiful great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to the physicians and staff at Blair Ridge, who were wonderful and to the very caring staff of Great Lakes Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Peru Circus City Festival.
