Clyde Ray Bowland, 88, of rural Kokomo, IN, passed away 1:45 PM, Sunday, December 25, 2011 at St.Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Amboy, IN on November 15, 1923 the son of Dr. Charles and Ethel Shrock Bowland. He married Nina Oden on March 20, 1949 at the Amboy United Methodist Church and she survives.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a retired Miami County farmer, retiring in 1967. Clyde was a quiet simple man who loved his family and instilled in them the importance of being a good steward and to love nature. He will be sadly missed.

Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 63 years, Nina, are his children Charles Bowland and his wife Mary Lou of Bunker Hill, IN and Paula Givens and her husband Neal of Kokomo, IN; two granddaughters Janeale McKee and her husband Johnny of Indianapolis, IN and Jamie Givens and her special friend Dave Lutton of Noblesville, IN.

A service celebrating the life of Clyde Ray Bowland will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, Amboy, IN with Pastor Bruce Mughmaw officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy, IN. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Thursday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Amboy United Methodist Church.
