Charlene C DeRossett

Charlene Christine DeRossett, 66, of Peru, passed away at 1:01 P.M., Sunday, January 20, 2019 at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born in Louisville, KY on November 3, 1952, the daughter of Christopher C. and Catherine L. Williams DeRossett. Charlene was a graduate of Paris High School, attended Ivy Tech, and was a member of the Renegades Dance Club. She worked at Dukes Memorial Hospital for 20 years in the OB, Medical Records, and Surgery departments. She also worked for Powers and Sons Construction as an Admin. Secretary. Her love of family was only enhanced by her love of life. Charlene never met a stranger and made you feel like an instant friend. Surviving is her mother, Catherine DeRossett of Peru; sons, Lee Simpson (Heather) of Peru and Jason Simpson (Megan) of Peru; grandchildren, Braxton Simpson, VA, Morgan Simpson, Peru, Jaylynn Simpson, Peru, and Madelynn Simpson, Peru; brothers, Christopher C. DeRossett, Fritch, TX and Elmer Sloan (Shiela), Jr., Peru; sisters Cassandra (Mike) Bainbridge, Sturgis, MI and Arcella (Joe) Harris, Hattiesburg, MS. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Charlene was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Gregory A. DeRossett. Family and friends will gather from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M., Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main, Peru.
