Carol L. (Fishback) Dawalt

Carol Lou Dawalt, 65, of Peru, passed away at 7:25 P.M., Monday, March 4, 2019 at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by her family. She was born in Peru on July 26, 1953, the daughter of Robert and Elmina Peterson Fishback. Carol married Cary Dawalt on March 4, 1995 and he survives. A 1971 Peru High School graduate and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Carol was retired from American Stationery. Carol was an avid IU and Colts fan. She adored her family, and loved to dote on her grandchildren. Carol had a positive outlook, always finding good in everyone. Surviving in addition to her husband, Cary, are their children Cara (David) Dawalt, Garry (Kathy) Dawalt, Dale (Tina) Dawalt, Jeff (Jena) Dawalt and Jodi (David) Grant, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, also surviving are her siblings Michael (Dina) Fishback, Gloria (John) Hentgen, Ellen (Mary) Constable and John (Carol) Fishback and several Nieces and Nephews. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Carol Lou Dawalt will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main St., Peru with Pastor Phil Cruea officiating. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, prior to the service. In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
