Betty L. Copeland, 91 of Peru passed away at 1:55 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Millers Merry Manor in Peru. She was born in Peru on July 2, 1926 the daughter of Paul and Dolas Brugh Fountain. Betty married William S. Copeland at the First Baptist Church in Peru on July 18, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1989. Betty was a 1945 graduate of Peru High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Peru. She was a former employee of Miami County Farm Bureau and American Stationary. Additionally she belonged to the Ruth Chapter #120 of the Eastern Star, Phi Delta Kappa Wives Club, Psi Iota Psi Sorority and Dukes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She and her husband Bill were Charter Members of the volunteer group that deliver Meals On Wheels in the community. Family was very important to Betty, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a stay at home mom before the term was invented and was very active in the Lincoln School PTA.

She is survived by a son William Copeland and his wife Carol Lynn of Scottville, Michigan, daughters Lynne Copeland of Peru and Suzy Dresser of New Haven, Indiana; grandchildren Michael Milton, Carol Milton, Rachel Dresser, Leah Dresser, Jimmy Dresser and his wife Danielle and a great grandson Jalen Thompson.

A service celebrating the life of Betty L. Copeland will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN, with Pastor Robert Adelsperger officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10:00 AM, Wednesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

Memorial Donations may be made through the funeral home to Dukes Memorial Auxiliary.
