Barbara J. Bishop, 87, of Peru passed away at 1:08 AM, Monday, November 6, 2017 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Richmond, IN on September 23, 1930 the daughter of Clyde and Dorothy Sims Morris. Barbara married Albert Jeffrey Bishop in Richmond, IN on July 17, 1955 and he survives.

Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Richmond High School, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Peru and Tri Kappa Sorority. Barbara loved to play bridge, was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and a lover of cats. However it was in her role as family matriarch that she will be remembered most. Family was very important to Barbara and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 62 years Albert Jeffrey Bishop is a son Christopher Bishop and his wife Maureen of Peru, a daughter Pamela Wyckoff of Peru, a sister Norma Wharton of Richmond, IN, grandchildren Jeff Lewis, Seth Bishop, Lucas Acord, Grayson Acord, Alyssa Bishop and Mikala Wyckoff and a great granddaughter Madelyn Lewis.

A service celebrating the life of Barbara Bishop will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Stephen Quinlan officiating. Burial will at Ever Rest Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather from 5:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
