Anne Elizabeth (Malon) Brown

Anne Elizabeth Brown, 64, of Peru passed away at 7:44 AM, Sunday, May 20, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Peru on June 11, 1953, the daughter of Norman and Margaret Sutton Malon. Anne married James Brown in Peru on October 6, 1972 and he survives. Anne was a 1971 graduate of Peru High School and a member of the First Christian Church. She was employed as a Meter Clerk and an Engineering Records Clerk at NIPSCO from 1971 till 1977. She was employed as a Secretary at Blair Pointe Elementary School from 1990 until her retirement in 2014. Anne was a member of the Sigma Delta Phi and Psi Iota Xi Sorority. Anne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was selfless in her life, genuine in her interest and care for her family and the people around her. Anne thoroughly enjoyed quilting and was a gifted baker and cake decorator. While her career highlights were many, it was her role as family matriarch that most will remember. Surviving in addition to her husband Jim, are sons Jared Brown and his wife Adi of Fishers, IN, Dr. Justin Brown of Peru and Brandon Brown and his wife Sarah of Carmel, IN; brothers Steve Malon and his wife Sherry of Noblesville, IN and Bill Gebhart and his wife Margaret of Kokomo, IN; sisters Linda Jackson and her husband Scott of Ft. Wayne, IN and Kristi Eddy and her husband Tom Jr. of Peru, IN and grandchildren Julia Cordaro Brown, Bella Cordaro Brown, Hudson David Brown, Olivia Jo Brown and Henry James Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Richard Gebhart and brothers Mike Gebhart and Lynn Gebhart. A service celebrating the life of Anne Brown will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor George McCarty officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 2:00 – 7:00 PM, on Wednesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home with a Psi Iota Xi Sorority Service at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Peru Parkinson Support Group.
