He was born in Peru on April 6, 1931, the son of Wellington and Hazel McGiness McKinney. Charles married Shirley Jean Eberle on September 10, 1950 and she preceded him in death on November 3, 1990. He married Joyce Hight on January 10, 1993 and she survives. Mr.

Carolyn S. Wright, 74, of Peru, IN, passed away at 9:26 PM, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru, IN. She was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on January 23, 1942 the daughter of Thomas and Edith Troxell Clark. Carol married Donald L. Wright on September 9, 1961 and he survives. She was a homemaker and an Air Force wife for more than 23 years while her husband was on active duty. Upon retirement of her husband from the Air Force, she worked at the Grissom Air Force Base Commissary, where she thoroughly enjoyed her job as supervisor of the baggers.

William “Bill” J. Mallow, 94, of Peru passed away at 2:00 AM, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. He was born in Miami County on August 4, 1921 the son of George and Pearl Shropshire Mallow. He married Lola Sage in 1942 and she preceded him in death. He later married Lalah Pritchard of Noblesville and she also preceded him in death. A paragon of America’s Greatest Generation William J. Mallow enlisted in the United States Army on July 2, 1942.

Dennis Arnold, 82, Peru, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Norfolk, VA. on July 10, 1933, the son of William and Esther Fritzinger Arnold. He married JoAnn Spencer on August 31, 1963, and she proceeded him in death February 24, 2007. A lifelong Peru resident, Dennis was a 1953 graduate of Peru High School and a United States Navy Korean War Veteran. His Military declarations include the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Andrea M. Miller, 63, of Amboy, IN, passed away at 8:55 AM, Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Peru, IN on July 3, 1952, the daughter of Howard and Genevieve Garber Pond. Andrea married Keith W. Miller in Amboy on February 14, 1970 and he survives. Andrea was a 1970 graduate of Oak Hill High School and a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Family was important to Mom and she loved her family unconditionally.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anita C. Bucher, 89, of Peru, passed away at 4:20 A.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Peru on February 10, 1927 the daughter Darwin and Flossie Showkwyler Darby. Anita married Donald R. Bucher on October 28, 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2012. Anita was a graduate of the Lafayette High School and a member of the Loree Brethren Church. She was employed by the Good Year Service Stores in Peru and Kokomo retiring in 1975.

Sylvia K. Miller, 70 of Peru, Indiana passed away at 2:55 AM, Thursday March 24, 2016 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Peru on August 21, 1945 the daughter of John and Betty Kiefer Woolley. Sylvia was a 1963 Graduate of Peru High School and was self-employed. She was involved in the Peru Amateur Circus since its beginning. She was a former CCFI Board Member, Producer and Trainer. She is survived by sons Jim Sharp, Dan Sharp and Mike Sharp of Peru, Indiana brothers James E. Woolley of Apopka, FL, and Jerry L. Woolley of Kokomo, Indiana.

Rita Jo Doran

Rita Jo Doran, 78, of Peru, passed away at 9:45 A.M., Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru. She was born in Winamac, IN on July 10, 1937 the daughter of Robert and Florence McCloud Conner. Rita married Robert A. Doran at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Peru on October 7, 1956 and he survives. Rita was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and a 1955 graduate of Peru High School. She was employed by NIPSCO from 1955 to 1965. She then was employed as a Teller at the Wabash Valley Bank and Trust Co. from 1965 till her retirement in 2007.

Edna Mae Lorenz, 94, formerly of Amboy, IN passed away at 7:30 P.M., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Century Villa Health Care, Greentown, IN. She was born in Howard County, IN on October 22, 1921 the daughter of Austin and Clara Duncan Reed. Edna married Ross H. Lorenz on December 24, 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2006. Edna graduated from Prairie High School in 1939 and was a member of the Loree Brethren Church and the Women’s Missionary Society.

Irma J. Atkinson, 94, of Peru, IN passed away at 2:35 PM, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Logansport, IN on June 11, 1921 the daughter of Mark and Nell Albin Mullin. Irma married Joseph L. Atkinson on May 13, 1941 and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2006. Irma was a 1939 graduate of Peru High School. She was employed by the Peru Trust Company from 1962-1969 and was a secretary at the Indiana State Police Post from 1970 until her retirement in 1986.
