Edna Wilson, 85, Kokomo passed away at 12:53 AM, June 16, 2016. She was born in Clinton, AK on May 31, 1931 the daughter of Leslie and Elza Smith Cunningham. Edna married Harry Wilson on June 30, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2006. Edna was a former member of the Assembly of God Kokomo and currently attended the New Life Assembly of God Kokomo. She had worked as a Nursing Assistant at Americana Nursing Home.

Dorothy Evelyn Bullock, 92, passed away on June 5, 2016 at 10:48 A.M., in her home surrounded by her family. Leaving her dearly loved family, Dorothy peacefully entered her eternal home to meet her Lord. She was born on December 10, 1923 in McClean County, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Mallie Adams. Dorothy was the fourth of seven children and the last surviving child of her family. Dorothy graduated from Ridge High School in Van Wert, Ohio in 1941. Upon graduation she moved to Bunker Hill, IN where she was a telephone operator.

Herbert R. Parsons, Jr., 85, of Peru, passed away at 7:30 A.M., Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born in South Bend, IN on November 28, 1930 the son of H. Ralph Parsons, Sr. and Esther Kurtz Parsons. Herb married Veronica “Bikey” Rothermel on April 9, 1960 and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2007. Herb was a 1948 graduate of Peru High School and received a BS in Business Administration from Indiana University. While a student at IU he was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity and participated in the first little 500 bicycle race at IU.

John Andrew Fugate, 72 of Peru passed to a better place during the run up to the 100th Indy 500 on May 29, 2016. John was born in Vigo County, IN on January 18, 1944 the son of John A. and Julia Monce Fugate. He was raised in Brazil, IN by his grandparents Clearance and Frances Monce where he had a varied early life in Equestrian pursuits and ¼ midget racing. He was a graduate of Indiana University where he was a member of the Marching 100, and received his Masters Degree in Education at Indiana State University.

Terry J. LeVier, 63, of Peru passed away at 1:00 AM Monday May 30, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Waverly, Iowa on October 17, 1952 the son of Anthony and Grace LeVier. Terry married Alisha Patrick on July 4, 2000 and she survives. Terry was an electrician by trade and a member of the First Church of God in Peru. He was also a member of the Peru Elks Lodge, Sons of the VFW and the Potawatomi Tribe.

Richard L. “Dick” Ashley, 67, of Peru, passed away at 6:21 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2016. He was born in Peru on July 8, 1948 the son of Dearl and Betty McKinley Ashley. He was married to M. Star James Ashley who preceded him in death and Caroll A. Givens Ashley of Denver, IN who survives. Dick was a 1966 graduate of Peru High School and was employed as a lineman for Indiana Bell for 32 years. He was a member of the Three Rivers Jeep Club. He enjoyed being outside, working on his Jeep, hiking, driving his Jeep through trails, rock crawling, camping and traveling out West.

Phyllis J. Schell

Phyllis J. Schell, 82, formerly of Peru passed away at 7:30 PM Monday May 23, 2016 at her daughters Pamela’s residence in Bowling Green, OH. She was born on August 12, 1933 in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Jesse and Goldia Epker Failor. Phyllis married Jack E. Schell in Quincy, IL on September 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2002. Phyllis was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and Gamma Nu Epsilon Sorority. She was a retired United Technology employee. Phyllis was a 1952 graduate of Hannibal High School, Hannibal, MO. She is survived by a son Harold E.

Joseph H. “Jay” Huber III, 64, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 9:39 AM at Indiana University Hospital of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Washington DC on February 22, 1952, the son of Joseph H. Jr. and Carolyn Cole Huber. Jay married Deborah McElheny on May 9, 1986 and she survives. Jay was a graduate of Howe Military Academy and a 1974 graduate of Indiana University. He was employed by Indiana National Bank and the Peru Trust Company. Jay was an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He loved to cook.

Lana Turner, 57, of Greentown, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 12:11 AM in Westfield, Indiana. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on June 24, 1958 the daughter of Richard O. Turner and Mary Garrison Killingsworth. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1977 and was an Administrative Assistant in the Sports Department at Purdue University. Lana had a strong faith and was active in the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Greentown.

Doloris E. Decker Peru, IN Formerly of Vandergrift Doloris E. (Bennett) Decker, 90, known to family and friends as Dodie, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Peru, Indiana. Born in Hyde Park to Alfred H. Bennett and Elsie M. (Myers) Bennett, she lived in Jersey Shore, PA, for many years before resettling in the Kiski area in retirement. She lived in Vandergrift and was a member of the North Apollo First Church of God, where she loved worshipping and participating in the Women's Quilting Group.
