Visitation will be 10:00 - 10:30 AM, Wednesday.

Ronald L. Bright, 76, of Lagro, passed away at 7:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Grant County on June 30, 1937 the son of Claude and Susie Timmons Bright. Ronald married Shirley Miller at the Amboy Methodist Church on July 17, 1955.

Ronald graduated from Converse High School in 1955 and worked at Foster Forbes, retiring in 1993 after 38 years. He attended Faith Chapel Methodist Church.

Ronald and his wife Shirley spent several winters in Florida. He was an avid fisherman and family fishing trips were very important to him. He especially enjoyed the fishing trips to Minnesota and Canada. He and his wife even went fishing on their honeymoon. Avid card players, Ronald and Shirley started an euchre card club in 1955 and it is still active today.

Surviving in addition to his wife Shirley are his children Rick Bright of Lagro, Kris Shafer and her husband Terry of Hartford City, and David Bright and his wife Rhonda of Lagro; grandchildren Mitch Bright and his wife Rachel, Chad Pinkerton and his wife Tonya, Brad Pinkerton, Todd Pinkerton, Kylee Thompson and her husband Michael, Craig Shafer, Kyle Shafer, Jacob Bright, Hannah Bright, Tommy Green and Terris Green; great-grandchildren Abby, Ariel, Kirsten, Austin, Brooklyn, Bailey, Gage, Josie, Noah and Kaidance and a great-great granddaughter Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Gary Todd Bright and a sister Joan.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, Amboy, In with Pastor Diana Siegel officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home 10:00-10:30 a.m., Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Faith Chapel Methodist Church.
