MaryAnn Aspinwall, 83, of Peru, passed away at 3:45 A.M., Monday, January 26, 2015 at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Peru on July 8, 1931 the daughter of Robert C. and Bernice Collins DeLochte. MaryAnn married James H. Aspinwall at Camp LeJeune, NC on May 26, 1950 and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1993.
MaryAnn was a 1949 graduate of Peru High School and attended MacMurry College in Jacksonville, IL. She was employed at Webster’s Florist until her retirement. She was a member of the Dukes Hospital Auxiliary and was Director of Volunteers for 20 years. MaryAnn served 2 terms as the President of the Dukes Hospital Auxiliary and was made an Honorary Member in 1999. She also was Mid-West Chairman and a Member of the Board for the Indiana Hospital Auxiliary Association. MaryAnn was active in the PTA and was past President of the Peru Jr. High PTA.
Surviving are her sons Jim Aspinwall and his wife Beverly of Peru, Jeff Aspinwall and his wife Nadine of Peru, Joe D. Aspinwall and his wife Becky of Peru and a daughter Julie Sturch and her husband Bill of Peru; grandchildren Steven (Danelle) Aspinwall, Alex Aspinwall, Nickolas (Katie) Aspinwall, Rachel Aspinwall, Erik Aspinwall, Zachary (Amber) Sturch, Brittany (Jake) Clark and Matthew Sturch; 6 great-grandchildren and two on the way; and a cousin John (Esther) Kinsella of Bunker Hill.
A service celebrating the life of MaryAnn Aspinwall will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main, Peru with Pastor George Dinkel officiating. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Dukes Hospital Auxiliary or the American Cancer Society.
