Mary E. Bingham, 76, of Peru, IN, passed away at 7:16 AM, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, She was born September 7, 1937 in Bunker Hill, IN the daughter of Dale and Iris Nutter Gardner. Mary married Joseph Bingham on November 29, 1957 in Bunker Hill and he survives.
Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bunker Hill and a 1956 graduate of Bunker Hill High School. Mary was employed at Howard Community Hospital and subsequently in the Emergency Room at Dukes Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2004.
She was a skilled seamstress and made both of her daughters wedding dresses and has made Halloween costumes for all her grandchildren through the years. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing food for her family. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mary was very involved in her children and grandchildren’s activities. She was always present at countless sporting events and musical concerts.
Surviving in addition to her husband Joe are her children Brian Bingham and his wife Shelley of Windsor, CA, Robin Siekman and her husband Lane of Rising Sun, IN, Jeffery Bingham and his wife Melanie of Peru and Valerie Williams and her husband Brian of Anderson, IN; grandchildren Allison Siekman and her fiancé Alex Kartman, Brenden Siekman and his wife Sarah, Michael Bingham, Jacob Bingham and his fiancé Destynne Moore, Jordan Williams, Parker Williams, Joshua Bingham, Caroline Siekman and Sarah Bingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and a daughter Kelly Bingham.
A service celebrating the life of Mary E. Bingham will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru with Pastor Charles Layne officiating. Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN. Family and friends will gather from 2:00-5:00 PM, Sunday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the First Baptist Church of Bunker Hill, IN.
