A service celebrating the life of Margaret Burkhardt will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Main Street United Methodist Church, 81 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Lauren Hall officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather from 4:00-7:00 PM, Sunday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN.

Margaret E. Burkhardt, 92, of Denver, IN passed away at 7:30 A.M., Monday, September 12, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Cass County, IN on March 1, 1924 the daughter of Roy and Mary Bloomer Huddleston. Margaret married Marvin E. Burkhardt on March 11, 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1995. Margaret was an honors graduate of Peru High School, a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She had been employed by the Miami County Auditor Office, the Peru License Branch and Peru Attorney Russell Wildman. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She loved her sewing and quilting; she was an avid gardner and was canning homemade apple sauce at the time of her death. She is survived by sons Steven Burkhardt and his wife Judy of Denver, IN and Alan Burkhardt and his wife Becky of Denver, IN; a daughter Rebecca Friesen of Phoenix, AZ; a sister Mae Brackenhamer of Palm Desert, CA, grandchildren David Burkhardt, Jon Burkhardt, Blaine Burkhardt and Kylie Burkhardt, a brother-in-law Joe Burkhardt of Louisville, KY and a sister -in-law Joyce Thompson of Peru, IN. Three step-great grandchildren and seven step-great-great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, brothers Leonard, Howard, Henry and Lewis Huddleston and sisters Esther Schini, Irene Holleraman, Bessie Mays and Mary Anna Musselman. A service celebrating the life of Margaret Burkhardt will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Main Street United Methodist Church, 81 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor Lauren Hall officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00-7:00 PM, Sunday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Alzheimer Association or the Main Street United Methodist Church.
