Louise Hentgen

Louise Hentgen entered into the Kingdom of God on Friday, March 4, 2016 in Peru, IN surrounded by her family during the time of her death. Louise was a loving, kind, and compassionate woman. She was devoted to her family and had a firm belief in God. Louise was born to Daniel Emerson and Susie (Hartleroad) Myers on October 8, 1927. She married Harry "Bill" Hentgen on June 26, 1982. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Peru. She worked with Meals on Wheels with her husband, Bill. She was a wonderful homemaker. She was a great cook. She loved to line dance. She and Bill used to ball room dance. Bill and Louise enjoyed 15 winters in Florida. She enjoyed Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy with her niece, Judy Myers. Louise always had that sweet smile! Between them, Bill and Louise had 8 children, 16 Grandchildren, and 31 Great Grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Bill, children Dennis (Karen) Weideman, Lebanon, Ohio; Gary (Linda) Weideman, Bloomington; Debbie Kinney, Fort Wayne; David (Toni) Weideman, Kokomo; and Brian (Teresa) Weideman, Milford; Mrs. Terry (Kay) Hentgen, Peru; Dan (Kim) Hentgen, Peru; and John (Gloria) Hentgen, Peru; grandchildren Lisa (Benton) Cook, Lebanon, Ohio; Mike (Rhonda) Weideman, Pana, Illinois; Jamie (John) Ridner), Bloomington; Danny (Marie) David, Peru; Angie (David) Wallace, Spencerville; Dawn Kutza, Bloomington; Kelsey Weideman, Carmel; Kyle Weideman, Milford; Kerri (Joe) Lester, Peru; Kristin (Larry) Fielstra, Nappanee; Tara (Ryan) Geisel, Elkhart; Debbie (Konnie) Hentgen, Lafayette; John Michael (Ami) Hentgen, Peru; Angie (Todd) Stuber, Peru; Cory (Karen) Hentgen, Fort Wayne; and Chip (Jessica) Hentgen, Peru. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Dean, Raymond, and Ralph Myers, and a stepson, Terry Hentgen. A service celebrating the life of Louise Hentgen will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at the First Baptist Church, 53 E. Main Street, Peru, IN with Reverend Dr. Robert Stuck and Pastor Bob Adelsperger officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends will gather Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Louise during the last few days of her life. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the First Baptist Church or the Oakdale Baptist Church.
