Jewell Dedman, 87, of Converse, IN, passed away at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Marion, IN with her family at her side. She was born in Truman, Arkansas, on January 6, 1926 the daughter of Plez and Verona Sullins Taylor. Jewell married John L. Dedman in Jonesboro, Arkansas on September 20, 1941 and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2008.

Jewell and her late husband John owned and operated Dedman’s Mobile Home Park in Converse for more than 28 years.

She is survived by two daughters Peggy Doxtater and her husband Bobby of Carriers, MS and Patsy Davis and her husband Adron of Jalapa, IN; a son Sherman Dedman and his wife Latha of Converse; a sister Imogene Qualls of Truman, Arkansas; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, a son Michael Dedman, a brother Jesse Taylor and a sister Lois (Taylor) Nance.

A service celebrating the life of Jewell Dedman will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main St., Amboy, IN, with Pastor Jeff Shaner officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy, IN. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.
