He was born in Norfolk, VA. on July 10, 1933, the son of William and Esther Fritzinger Arnold. He married JoAnn Spencer on August 31, 1963, and she proceeded him in death February 24, 2007. A lifelong Peru resident, Dennis was a 1953 graduate of Peru High School and a United States Navy Korean War Veteran. His Military declarations include the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from Ameritech in 1994, after 30 years of service. A man of strong faith, he was a lifelong parishioner of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was well-known within the community, being a lifetime member of The Knights of Columbus, The AT&T Pioneers, The American Legion Post #418 and the VFW Post #2067, where he served as a trustee. Additionally, he was an active member of the Miami County Military Rites Unit. Dennis was a loving husband, father and uncle who cared greatly about his country, community and family. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling and, in addition to visiting countries around the world while in the Navy, he visited England, Ireland and Scotland, as well as various places of interest throughout the United States. He loved animals, especially his Labrador Retrievers, Maggie, Buddy (both deceased) and Duke. Family and friends were a priority to Dennis and he always looked forward to getting together, whether it was a quiet visit at home, dining out or a party. He filled the room with joy, love and laughter with his incredible warm personality that was quick with a smile and a hug or handshake. His greatest pleasure in life was spending time and reliving memories with his family and friends. Surviving are children, Angela Arnold and Brian Arnold, both of Indianapolis; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife Joann, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Billy” Arnold and Kenneth Arnold.
