Arlene Tschiegg, 59, of Bunker Hill, IN, passed away at 11:20 AM, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born on January 15, 1953 the daughter of Albert and Mattie Helmuth Otto. She married Bill Tschiegg on April 18, 1998 at the Sycamore Friends Church and he survives.
Arlene was a former restaurant manager and had spent the last five years as a caretaker for her mother. She was a member of the Sycamore Friends Church where she taught Sunday School, and the Wednesday Night Master Builder, served on the Ministry and Oversite, and was a member Secretariat for Brethren Way of Christ. Her greatest joys in life were her husband, her family and her faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband Bill, is her mother Mattie Otto of Bunker Hill; sisters Mary Bontrager and her husband Dale of Harlan, IN, Barb Lataillade and her husband Patrick of Mirimar, FL and Edith Miller of Huntington, IN; brothers Cal Otto and his wife Jean of Sarasota, FL, and Linn Otto and his wife Marietta of North Adams, MI. She was preceded death by her father Albert Otto and a brother-in-law Sam Miller.
A service celebrating the life of Arlene Tschiegg will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Sycamore Friends Church, 1148 N 1300 E, Sycamore, IN with Pastor Jesse Vore officiating. Burial will be in the Christner Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather from 2:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM, Friday at the Sycamore Friends Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central American Medical Outreach.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, Amboy, IN.
