Sandra Kay Sutton, 72, of Amboy, passed away at 3:05 P.M., Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Community Howard Hospital, Kokomo. She was born in Peru on February 7, 1945, the daughter of Woodrow Vern and Wanda Mae Howard Bowland. Sandra married Larry E. Sutton in New Tazewell, TN on December 5, 1963 and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2011. Sandra was a 1964 graduate of Oak Hill High School and worked at Amboy Market for several years. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Sweetser and sang for 9 ½ years with the Messengers of Truth Gospel Group. Sandra loved vacationing with her family in the Smoky Mountains. Surviving are her sons Jeffrey Sutton and his wife Mindy of Champaign, IL and Gregory Sutton and his wife Linda of Amboy, IN; grandchildren Adia Sutton and Lyric Sutton of Champaign, IL and Luke Sutton of Amboy; a brother Gary Lee Bowland and his wife Lisa of Amboy; a sister Peggy E. Snyder and her husband Brad of Rochester, IN; brothers in law Larry Hight of Noblesville, IN, Howard Bates of Sevierville, TN and Paul Oden of Jonesboro, IN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry, and a sister Linda Lou Hight. A service celebrating the life of Sandra Kay Sutton will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 North Main Street, Amboy, IN with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating. Burial will follow at the Park Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.
