Richard M. Green, 78, of rural Kokomo, IN passed away at 12:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo, IN . He was born in Howard County, IN on December 4, 1932 the son of Vaughn M. and LaVonne Overman Green. Dick married Phyllis Morgan at the Cassville United Methodist Church on June 1, 1952 and she survives.

Dick was a graduate of Clay Township High School and was employed at Delco Electronics in Kokomo until his retirement in 1995 he was also a retired Miami County Farmer. He was a member of the Cassville UMC, and attended the Bennetts Switch United Methodist Church.

Dick had a passion for living, which one couldn’t help but notice. He had an infectious love for life, family and friends. He and his wife, Phyllis, enjoyed attending all of their grandchildren’s activities and traveling together.

Surviving along with his wife of more than 59 years, Phyllis, are his children; David Green of Frankfort, IN, Michael Green and his wife Debbie of Atlanta, IN and Anne Gable and her husband Jack of Peru, IN; grandchildren, Dustin Green, Michael Green, Matthew Green, Mark Green, Nicholas Green, Lyndi Gable and Megan Gable; great-grandchildren, Ronin Green, Elijah Green, Israel, Green and Miles Green; and a sister, Joyce Freed and her husband Stan of Chester, VA.

A service celebrating the life of Richard M. Green will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201, North Main, Amboy, IN with Pastor Norm Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Cassville United Methodist Church or the Bennetts Switch United Methodist Church.
