Patrick Speth Obituary

Patrick Speth, 50, passed away in Midland, Texas. He was born to Annie Williams Speth and Peter Speth in Indianapolis on March 31, 1968, the second oldest of five siblings. He attended Saint Charles Elementary, Peru, Junior High and Peru High School. He was a four year A student, letterman and captain in football and track and was active in the German Club. Graduating from Rose-Holman College, where he was All Conference in football, as a Civil Engineer in 1990 he worked at several engineering firms in the Mid-West. In the late 1990’s he was the site engineer for the Indianapolis Circle Mall. Deciding he neither liked working in cubicles nor outside in Indiana in the winter, he moved to Florida where he decided to be an over the road 18 wheel trucker with his faithful companion, Cocoa the Chihuahua. After a dozen years traveling the Southeast, he decided his next adventure was a calling from the oil fields in Odessa-Midland in West Texas. He spent then next eight years working around the oil industry in West Texas. Patrick is survived by his loving mother Annie and father Peter of Peru, sister Emili (Troy) Zahner, Mishawaka, IN; brothers Philip, Huntsville, AL and Parke (Nichole), Atlanta, IN. He is also survived by three nieces and six nephews. A sister, Laina, proceeded him to heaven. A rosary will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM with Rev. Adam Mauman and Monsignor Robert L. Sell officiating. The family will receive friends after 9:30 AM, Saturday, at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Charles Catholic Church for Masses in Memory of Patrick.
