Mary Belle Garber, 93, of Converse, IN, passed away at 9:20 A.M., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Amboy, IN on August 26, 1924, the daughter of Ira and Opal (Guyre) Anderson. Mary Belle married Burt F. Garber on May 15, 1948 and he survives.
She had found what everyone seeks; true love, her soul mate. She enjoyed 70 plus years wrapped in a love story that stood the test of time. She loved to share her story of her handsome sailor, and the life they had shared.
To know her, was to love her. She had a kind heart and made those she met feel special and loved. Her love of family was beyond measure, her absence leaves a void in our hearts and lives that will be felt until we meet again.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Burt, is a son, Mike (Laurie) Garber of Amboy, daughters, Kay (Rich) Mobley of Converse and Jane Mitchell of Converse; grandchildren, Chris (Missy) Mobley, Heidi (Allen) Miller, Sara (Dustin) Fowler, Joe Pence, Kelli (Patrick) Gunter and Ashley Mitchell; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers Bob (Donna) Anderson of Amboy and Max (Winnifred) Anderson of Converse and a sister Bonnie (Darrell) Clevenger of Arizona. Mary Belle was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Kristy Mobley, a grandson Judson Mitchell and a great-granddaughter Anabelle Burton.
A Celebration of Life of Mary Belle Garber will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Masonic Lodge #601, 104 N. Madison St., Converse.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Converse Fire Department, P.O. Box 47, Converse, IN 46919.
