Mary K. Boone, 96, of Peru passed away at 6:45 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Millers Merry Manor in Peru. She was born Huntington, Indiana on October 1, 1920 the daughter of Edward William and Kathryn Okuly Wineke. Mary married Billy E. Boone in Huntington on July 8, 1944 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1973. Mary was a graduate of Huntington High School and Ft. Wayne Business College. She was employed as a clerk with the Peru Police Department, retiring in 1987.

Mary was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Altar and Rosary Society and a former Red Cross Volunteer Worker. She had a lifelong love of gardening and loved all flowers. Her most treasured role was serving her family as a devoted wife to her husband and a devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Marsha Keller of Peru, and Billie K. Miller and her husband Gary of Peru, sons Robert Boone and his wife JoEllen of Greencastle, IN, and Michael Boone and his wife Jennifer of North Manchester, IN; grandchildren Risha DeLawter, Dr. Richard Keller, Marianne McHenry, Darrell Miller, Nita Newsom, Shannon Boone, Bradley Boone, Allison Powers and Kyle Boone; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy, a son-in-law Richard Keller and two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary K. Boone will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th Street, Peru, IN with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport, IN. Family and friends will gather from 5:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 7:45 PM, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the St. Charles Restoration Fund.
