Margaret M. (Eisenman) Pence

Margaret M. Pence, 85, passed on to her Lord Jesus March 9, 2018 at St. Vincent-Kokomo Hospital. She was born September 2, 1932 to Glen Eisenman and Josephine Anderson Eisenman in Peru, IN. She married Robert D. Swinford March 14, 1952 who preceded her in death April 21, 2005. Bob and Margaret had two daughters Susie (Charlie) Hubler and Peggy (Craig) Olson of Peru. She assumed the role of grandmother to Craig’s daughter Alaina and her two children. She had two nieces Becky (Tony) Tomes, Wilmington, NC and Patty Clark deceased. A nephew Dick (Jane) Means, Orlando, Fl. She was the “God Grandparent” to James Dolezal and Jennifer Dolezal Steckenrider Margaret married Wayne G. Pence, December 9, 2007. She lovingly assumed a motherly role for Wayne’s family of Rhonda (Stan) Ridlen, Marion, IN and 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Cheryl Weeden, Kokomo, 3 grandchildren , 3 great grandchildren and Steven Pence, Bedford, IN and 1 grandchild. She was a former Tupperware dealer and District Manager for Avon. Margaret was also a founding president of Peru Women’s Aglow. Bob and Margaret first met Wayne and Estella Pence in 1974 at a weekly “Upper Room” community fellowship near Bunker Hill where approximately 100 met in worship and learning of the Ministry of the Holy Spirit. Margaret was  invited  by Estella to be the first manager of the Living Water Christian Bookstore in Kokomo. After a few years Bob and Margaret purchased and operated the Son Shine Christian Bookstore in Peru. Margaret was a member of the Peru Parkview United Methodist congregation which changed its name about 5 times during the 65 years she attended. Evangelical to Evangelical Brethren to United Brethren to United Methodist. She would say today God’s address never changes. It is John 14:6!!! Margaret and Wayne are now members of the Kokomo First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., Kokomo, IN where the viewing and services will be. Viewing will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene. A service celebrating the life of Margaret M. Pence will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM, at the church with Pastors David Leeder and Bob Clark officiating. Following the service, lunch for funeral guest will be served with a brief time for visitation before preceding to the cemetery. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CSI Jamaican Ministry, PO Box 841, Muncie, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, Peru, IN.
